Tuar Cost Consulting provides independent Quantity Surveying and commercial support to the construction and civil engineering sectors across Ireland and the UK.
With over 10 years’ experience working within Tier 1 contractor environments, we understand the commercial realities of delivering projects on site. Our focus is simple - provide clear advice, accurate cost management, and practical commercial support that helps projects run efficiently and stay financially on track.
From early stage estimating and tendering through to contract administration and final account agreement, we support clients throughout the full lifecycle of construction projects.
We work closely with contractors, developers and project teams to manage commercial risk, maintain cost certainty, and support the successful delivery of projects from start to finish.
Tuar Cost Consulting was established following more than a decade of experience working within a leading civil engineering contracting environment.
The business was created to provide independent, commercially focused Quantity Surveying services grounded in real project experience - not theory.
The name Tuar is derived from the Irish language and relates to forecasting or prediction. When combined with Cost, it reflects the core purpose of Quantity Surveying - providing clear cost insight, forward planning, and informed decision-making throughout the life of a project.
OUR FOUNDER
Tuar Cost Consulting is led by Pádraic Gillen, an experienced Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years of professional experience delivering commercial and contractual support across the civil engineering and construction sectors.
His experience includes highway maintenance, asphalt resurfacing, pavement construction, utilities, structures, and large-scale civil engineering infrastructure projects delivered through both traditional contracts and framework programmes.
Having worked within Tier 1 contractor environments, Padraic brings a practical and commercially focused approach to projects - combining detailed cost control with clear, objective advice that supports effective project delivery.
